Mary Ann Cagle was my great grandmother. She was the daughter of Charles
Arter Cagle, who married Lydia Margaret Standridge. Charles was the son
of Henry Cagle and Martha Isabelle Pinetree. I have found no information
on Ms. Pinetree, other than that she was from Georgia.

Henry Cagle was the son of Charles Cagle and Susannah (Unknown).
Charles' father was Jacob Cagle, married to Lucy Dorrough.
Jacob was the son of Johan Theobold Cagle and Catherine (Unknown)
Before that I have Leonard Cagle, born in 1684.

This is a picture of Charles Arter Cagle, my great great grandfather with Lydia Margaret Standridge. He is the father of Mary Ann Cagle, my great grandmother. Her son, Charles William Tilley, was my grandfather.

They started west on a wagon train and she became ill. They left Newton Cnty, Ar and were headed to Idaho. Charles wanted Lydia to have a decent burial but had no money so he sold her long hair to a man who made horse whips.

He had 19 children. Following the death of Lydia, he married her sister-in-law who had lost her husband to the same illness on the wagon train. Lydia died in Americus, Lyon, Kansas.
